WATER ADVENTURES

Golden, B.C. is where the Columbia and Kicking Horse Rivers collide and conjoin, and this along with a variety of beautiful glacial lakes and hotsprings make Golden and the surrounding region ideal for water sports and recreation of all kinds. Whitewater rafting along the Kicking Horse River (seen right) is known around the world by experienced rafters. You can book a seat with Wet N' Wild Rafting through us. Its spectacular rapids, with such names as The Double Trouble, Riptide, Watchman, and The Nozzle provide exhilaration in its highest form. For those with tamer tastes, wetland tours and slowfloat trips along the Columbia River, where an amazing variety of wildlife and birds may be seen, offer a wonderful way to appreciate the Rockies -- without getting quite as wet. Kayaking and canoeing are also available on the Kicking Horse and Columbia Rivers, as well as the nearby Kinbasket Lake. For true relaxation in its purest form, visit the marvellous hot springs in neighbouring Radium, Fairmont, or Banff. There you will find proof that for all of man's wonders in technology, Mother Nature still makes the best hot tubs.

HANG GLIDING & PARAGLIDING

Golden is world-famous for its thermals, providing phenomenal lift and distance for hang gliders and paragliders around the globe every summer. From the Mount 7 launch site, hang gliders can reach distances of more than 300 km, paragliders 100 km, over the mountaintops of the Selkirks and Purcells.
